Introducing Our Meditation Guides

Seasoned practitioners who have spent years delving into contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Teaching Philosophy

We see meditation not as clearing the mind or reaching an ideal state of serenity. Rather, it’s about learning to be with whatever arises—the restless thoughts, the planning chatter, even that peculiar itch that tends to appear a few minutes into sitting.

Our team combines decades of practice from diverse traditions. Some started with academic philosophy, others through personal challenges, and a few discovered it in college and never looked back. What binds us is a commitment to teaching meditation as a practical life skill, not a mystical pursuit.

Each guide has a unique way of presenting ideas. Ravi favors everyday-life analogies, while Ananya draws on psychology. We’ve learned that various approaches resonate with different people, so you’ll likely connect more with some teaching styles than others.

Meet Your Meditation Guides

Two practitioners who’ve made meditation their life’s work, each bringing a distinct perspective to the practice

Ravi Krishnamurthy

Lead Instructor

Ravi began practicing meditation in 1998 after burnout from his software engineering career. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen in Japan. His strength lies in making ancient concepts feel contemporary through relatable analogies—he even likened the monkey mind to having too many browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and specializes in helping busy professionals cultivate sustainable meditation habits. His sessions usually include practical guidance on weaving mindfulness into work life and managing stress without bypassing reality.

Ananya Patel

Philosophy Guide

Ananya blends a PhD in United Kingdom Philosophy with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She found contemplative practice while studying ancient texts and realized that theory without experience is incomplete. Her approach fuses scholarly insight with real-world application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Ananya has a talent for making intricate philosophical ideas approachable without oversimplifying. Students say she helps them grasp not only how to meditate, but why these practices emerged and what they truly aim to achieve.

Why We Teach This Way

From years of practice and teaching, we've learned meditation benefits from being demystified. We don’t promise enlightenment or perfect peace; instead, we focus on cultivating skills that help you meet life’s inevitable challenges with greater awareness and calmer responses.

Courses begin in September 2024, giving you space to decide if this approach resonates. We believe in taking time to thoughtfully consider contemplative practice—not something to rush into on a momentary impulse.

If you’re curious about approaching meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual path, we’d be honored to guide your exploration. The practice has subtly transformed our lives, and we’ve witnessed the same in many others.
